Background
A European pet company wanted a home‑use UVB lamp to help reptiles (lizards, turtles) and birds synthesize vitamin D3 indoors, preventing metabolic bone disease. The client only provided hand‑drawn sketches; we handled full engineering, optical simulation, and mass production.

Challenges
- Required precise 308nm UVB (not ordinary UVA) with high spectral purity.
- Safety features: anti‑glare, auto‑off timer, child lock.
- Compact, clip‑on design for terrariums, waterproof and chew‑resistant.

Solution
- Light source: Custom 308nm UVB LED module, adjustable 5‑15W.
- Optics: Reflector + diffuser lens for uniform 40×40cm coverage at 30cm height.
- Control: Touch panel + Bluetooth app, programmable daily duration (5‑30 min) and auto shutoff.
- Enclosure: ABS housing + silicone anti‑slip clip, IP54, chew‑resistant cable.
We completed 3D modeling, optical simulation, prototyping, EMC testing, and CE certification. First shipment 4 months after contract signing.

Results
- Launched at a European pet expo in 2025; over 5,000 units ordered in first month.
- Client filed EU design patent; we retain core UVB module patent.
